Styling for portraits is very important to the overall quality of the images. We want to tell YOUR story! So wear clothing that you feel comfortable in and that reflect your personality.

You want to feel great in the clothes you’re wearing, but you also want them to appear timeless. This does not mean you have to make an expensive shopping trip. You likely have most of what you will need in your closet already. Earthy tones photograph best with my editing style. Please see images from my portfolio for examples.

Here are a few tips to help you style:

• Avoid clothing that is overly tight and cumbersome.
• Keep prints to a minimum, solid colors in earthy tones work best.
• In Spring, Fall and Winter I always suggest adding layers to your outfits as well. Layers photograph nicely and it also helps incase the weather turns out to be cooler than planned. Layers like cardigans, jackets, vests are the perfect finishing touch!
• Don’t forget accessories like bowties, hats, headbands, and cute shoes!
